Sunday, the twelfth of June 2016, will be remembered as the infamous day when “Jihad” raised its belligerent head in “The City Beautiful.”
The repercussions are causing unfathomable agony for the loved ones of the victims who perished, and for the survivors suffering from their physical and emotional wounds. Many, especially the people who personally witnessed this horrific bloodshed, have been shaken to their core.
Prayers are blanketing Central Florida and well-wishes are pouring in from around the world.
President Obama still refuses to call the atrocities committed in Orlando by their proper name, aka “Radical Islamic Terrorism.” He emphatically dismisses such terminology as a ”Political Talking Point or Distraction,” while at the same time accusing Mr. Trump, who has challenged him in this regard, of “Yapping.” I wonder whether the people here and abroad, who have been personally affected by this type of alleged ”Political Talking Point or Distraction” share his sentiment?
The worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since “911” has now been carried out under Mr. Obama’s watch. In a desperate attempt to distract the citizenry from his administration’s failures and the stain they cast upon his legacy, he continues to opportunistically blame lax gun laws, which incidentally, have forever been stuck up his craw. Someone should refresh his memory regarding the terrorist attacks in Paris last November, which were perpetrated in a nation with far more restrictive laws concerning firearms than the United States.
In January of 2014, either due to a lack of imagination or deficiencies in intelligence, he also discounted the emerging Islamic State as a minor player.
Late on Monday, Hillary Clinton took a slight breather from her obligatory anti-gun rhetoric and started to echo the words of Donald Trump, by (tepidly) implicating radical Islamic terrorism as a possible motive in the weekend’s mass shooting. Since she was catching flak from all sides, including (incredibly) the ever sycophantic mass media, her political expediency instinct kicked into high gear and she proceeded to engage in damage control. At least she did not parrot the explanation of her progressive “reservation” comrades, who in the case of Planned Parenthood officially blame the massacre on “Toxic Masculinity,” or the ACLU, which inanely implicates the “Christian Right.”
If you can’t accurately identify or refuse to name a problem, how are you ultimately going to address and effectively counteract it? Hillary’s missteps and her failures with respect to domestic and international issues, particularly terrorism during her tenure as Secretary of State in the Obama Administration and thereafter, can be characterized as a cacophony of deflections, excuses, willful ignorance and sheer incompetence.
Mrs. Clinton always keeps at least one finger moistened in order to check the direction of the prevailing political winds and adjusts her position(ing) accordingly. When she is not scrutinizing the breeze, you might even discover her digits in the “forbidden” cookie jar. Unbeknownst to Hillary, some of our international adversaries have indeed managed to stick their grubby hands into said jar, retrieving a wealth of scrumptious (for them), but compromising (for her and the nation’s national security) morsels. That is precisely what happens when your guiding principles are based on the two main premises that rules are meant to be broken, and they are for thee, but not me.
